Introduction:

Are you a writer or willing to write a book in the future? If yes, this book will certainly amaze you and connect with you. 'Surrogate Author' is a very small and simple book that conveys a great and beautiful message not only for writers but for every human being.

Plot Summary:

The story revolves around three main characters- Authdas (author), Paro (book) and Chandramukhi (inspiration). After reading the names of the characters, I am sure you will be reminded of Devdas, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie. Yes, this book is written in the context of Devdas where the author becomes Devdas who is badly in love with Paro, i.e., his book. However, his family disapproves his love for writing books and separates them. He then meets Chandramukhi (inspiration) which leads him to find his lost love and rediscover his passion for writing books.

After Authdas is done with writing his beloved book, Paro, he gets another opportunity to write a book which he is reluctant about in the beginning. However, Chandramukhi once again inspires him to take up the work and become successful.

Writing Style:

The writing style of this book is very, very simple. If you have watched Devdas and know the characters very well, it will be very easy for you to understand the different scenes and relate with them. Since the book is very small, you can read it in a mere 20 minutes. The writing style is easy and humorous.

My Perception:

When I first started reading this book, I had no idea about it having any resemblance to Devdas. So that came as a surprise for me. The characters are well explained and simple to understand which helped me finish this book faster. The story is inspiring but the fact that it is written for an author and his book gives it a humorous touch.

However, this book teaches one to fulfill their dreams and aspirations despite opposition from people. It also teaches us to experiment with life and go forward to create new things and memories while the old ones still remain close to the heart.

Santosh Avvannavar has done a good job once again after SHE: Ekla Cholo Re!
